Achieving 50-50: Empowering Women Leaders in the Indo-Pacific Region
For a long time, the gender ratio in decision level has been imbalanced, and gender stereotypes still influence women in both public and private spheres. Fortunately, ensuring gender responsive, inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at all levels has become one of the core value in Sustainable Development Goals.
Meanwhile, there is a trend of women’s public participation focused more on policy making and social good, either as non-profit organizations, or individual election with a social purpose. Opening on International Human Rights Day, this workshop echoes “Women Rights are Human Rights” and will discuss the challenges facing women in decision making level in both public and private sectors, and introduce the women whose experience and strategies are successful in making development difference.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciateion to all organizations and experts to make this workshop possible. We believ this workshop could be a step fowards to explore an Indo-Pacific vision to encourage more women to decision making level and achieve the advancement of sustainable and inclusive development.
