2. Approval Process: what steps applicants must take, how projects are approved
3. Concept Notes: improving your chances, selecting funds, funding criteria, objectives
4. Proposals: improving project quality
5. Project implementation: reporting guidelines, introduction to guidebook
6. Resources: project development materials, example concept notes and proposals
7. Optional second hour (up to 60 mins): In-depth on above topics. Plus budgets, Q&A, Concept Note clinic for participants to ask questions about their projects (time permitting)
Summary:
This information session provides an overview of the APEC project approval process and the quality criteria used for assessing projects. Participants will learn how to improve their chances of funding approval and how to turn quality ideas into quality concept notes and proposals.
Who should attend?
Anyone who is considering submitting an APEC project concept note for funding will benefit from this training program, which is open to all APEC meeting participants.
How are the sessions run?
Sessions are one-hour and are free for all APEC delegates. Participants only need to attend one session. No prior sign-up is required. Interested participants may choose to stay for extra time (up to one hour) focusing on more in-depth presentations and Q&A about project issues and/or (time permitting) feedback on participants’ particular Concept Note or Proposal issues.
Who is the trainer?
Adam Hunt, Project Development Specialist for the APEC Secretariat, is an experienced management trainer who has served in leadership, fundraising and grantmaker positions on international aid projects in S.E. Asia and community programs in Canada. Mr. Hunt earned his Masters in Planning (International Development) from the University of British Columbia.
