2014 APEC Women and the Economy Forum

The Forum will be held in Beijing, from 21 to 23 May 2014. The meeting venue will
be Beijing Hotel, No.33 East Chang An Avenue, Beijing 100004, China.


The Asia-Pacific Economic Corporation’s (APEC) Policy Partnership on Women and the Economy (PPWE) provides a mechanism to integrate gender considerations into APEC activities. It also provides policy advice on gender issues and supports gender equality where relevant to the APEC process.

As usual, the APEC Women in Economy Forum (WEF) 2014 has three main components:

  • Public-Private Dialogue on key issues for Women’s Empowerment (PPDWE) 
  • the APEC Policy Partnership on Women and the Economy (PPWE) 
  • and the High Level Policy Dialogue (HLPD) on Women and the Economy 

 

Theme and Subthemes

The main theme of 2014 APEC Women and the Economy Forum is Harnessing the Power of Women for Asia-Pacific Prosperity.

There are three subthemes, namely Women and Green Development, Women and Regional Trade and Economic Cooperation, Policy Support and Women’s Economic Empowerment.
