APEC Multi-year Project “Innovation for Women and Economic Development”, co-sponsored by 14 APEC economies, was implemented by Chinese Taipei since May 2013. This project has endorsed by both PPWE and SMEWG, and ABAC Women’s Forum and APNN (Asia-Pacific Nation Network) are also involved.
In the first phase (2013-2014), Chinese Taipei hold two APEC conferences each year in order to promote awareness of women’s needs in APEC region in embracing new devices and services for start-up and business development. Further, a study report “How ICT economically empower Women Entrepreneurs” is published to identify and disseminate pertinent experiences and know-how of ICT innovations that can be replicated to broaden women’s capacities of doing business. This phase, an e-learning research, a guidebook to implement gender program and a women-friendly ICT application are developing to facilitate women entrepreneurs’ business knowledge.
In 16 September, a side event of APEC “Women and Economy Forum” named “Empowering Women through ICT for Inclusive Growth” will be hosted by both PPWE Chinese Taipei and PPWE the Philippines, aims to illustrate the outcomes of this year. We sincerely invite the delegates from PPWE member to care the women entrepreneur issues and join this excellent event in Manila!
