Alpha and Gender Diversity: The Competitive Edge
Date: 14–15 September, 2016/ Westin Copley Place, Boston, Massachusetts, United States
A growing body of research shows that gender-diverse teams lead to improved corporate performance and better investor outcomes.

Although the business case for gender diversity is well established, women are still underrepresented in the investment profession globally. President and CEO of CFA Institute, Paul Smith, CFA, agrees that the industry must take the lead in changing our demographic: “As the largest global association of investment professionals, we are in a powerful and unique position to bring awareness to this issue.”

The 2016 Alpha and Gender Diversity: The Competitive Edge conference will offer the latest research and best practices for improving diversity at investment firms and practical career insights, networking, and hands-on workshops for individual practitioners and team leaders to take their firms to the next level.

Building on the successes of the 2015 inaugural Women in Investment Management conference and leaning on the continued leadership of CFA Institute societies and charterholders globally, the conference will connect participants in actions and strategies to better understand and close the gender gap in the investment industry.

Conference highlights include keynote speaker Sallie L. Krawcheck, owner and chair of Ellevate Network; wealth management and entrepreneurship topics by Barbara Roberts, Columbia Business School’s Entrepreneur in Residence; the latest gender diversity and corporate performance research from Julia Dawson, managing director, Credit Suisse, and author of “The CS Gender 3000: Women in Senior Management” report; Seema Hingorani, founder and chair of Girls Who Invest; and many more.

With a dynamic agenda and innovative presentations designed for women and men, employers and employees, and team leaders and members, this conference will address how firms can attract and retain the best talent, how leaders can get the most from their global mixed teams, and how individuals can develop strategies to attain their long-term career goals. Participants can attend plenary sessions targeted toward managing investment organizations and interactive workshops for individual practitioners on improving negotiating skills, developing an executive presence, pursuing corporate board service, and other career topics.

Reserve your place at the conference today, and start shaping a stronger future for women in the investment profession.
