Call for Proposals
Gender, Science and Technology (S&T) is a critical interdisciplinary research domain and has become a must-addressed perspectives in scientific policy and research for many countries. Based on global Gender Mainstreaming trend, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of Taiwan entrust the Gender in Science & Technology project (Taiwan GIST) to National Kaohsiung Normal University Graduate Institute of Gender Education. This project attempts to assist government to include “gender balance” and “gendered innovations” concerns into the policy making and research direction guiding. This year, we organize 2017 International Conference of Gender in Science & Technology to invite all those interested by and involved in gender, science and technology policy or research to exchange views and opinions, to establish new contacts with peers and other gender in S&T stakeholders. Taiwan GIST is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the 2017 International conference of Gender in Science & Technology, to be held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, October 27th -28th, 2017.

This conference call for research papers in the following fields:
- Gender equality policy in the science and technology domain, including education and academic and more
- Implementation of projects or measures to promote institutional changes or culture shifts in a specific community or professions
- The results and process of integrating gender research methods and knowledge into ST knowledge production and innovation
- other topics related to gender and ST

The conference aims to bring the following people together for a rich discussions and sharing of how gender can be integrated into policy, knowledge production and technological innovation:
- Science and Technology Scholars who are interested in how gender knowledge and approach can support new research and technological development
- Researchers who has been involved in “Gender and ST” researches supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan
- K-12 educators who are interested in broaden knowledge about gender and ST
- The general public who is interested in “Gender and ST” issue

Submitted abstracts should be less than 500 words. You may choose the presentation form, theme of your proposal. Abstract submissions are to be done before May 31st 23:59 (GMT+8), 2017. Acceptance Notification will be sent out before June 30th, 2017 by email and post on the conference website.
