Taiwan to host 2014 world women entrepreneur meeting

Taipei, May 28 (CNA) Taiwan has won a bid to host the 2014 world congress of the World Association of Women Entrepreneurs, a Foreign Ministry official said Tuesday. It will be the first time the annual world congress has been held in Taiwan, said Wu Rong-chuan, head of the ministry's Department of Non-Government Organization International Affairs. Hosting the event will help spur Taiwan's drive to participate in international organizations and improve its global profile, Wu said. The association was founded in France in 1945 and today comprises members from 88 countries. The Taiwanese Women's Entrepreneurs Association joined the body in 1981, Wu noted.
